Met with the Oncologst on Tuesday

Martha and I met with Dr. Michale Kosmo at 1:30pm. He was able to work us in although his office partner was on vacation and he was covering for him. We were there with him for over a hour and was able to answer most of the questions we had written down. He seemed to be little younger than me and was very low key. He seem very compassionate. His staff seemed be very qualified as well. He recommended a once a week chemo therapy of Gemzar, generic name -gemcitabine as well as biologic agent Avastin. Positive outcomes with Gemzar is around 20% and with Avastin, 10%

Since Dr. K is an oncologist that handles all types of cancers he did suggest a 2nd opinion with UC Irvine Medical Center. They have liver/pancreatic cancer specialized oncologists. They are one of the top rated Medical Centers in the area, this is where I had my last biopsy.

We asked for that referral to make sure we are on right path. More info to come.
