Thursday Update

I met with our local GI specialist. Dr. Fan, is their cancer specialist. He felt we could wait another month or so before removing the temporary stent to replace it with a permanent one.

He reviewed the preliminary biopsy and felt that if our oncologist could clean up the liver cancer and if there was no more metastasizing then I could be a candidate for a pancreas resection. In other words a removal which would great increase my chances for survival. The operation known as a Whipple, named after the doctor that developed it years ago. I guess time will tell if that will be an option.

I did hear that my oncologist referral paperwork is complete. I will be seeing Dr. Michael Kosmo, hopefully sometime next week. I will be calling Friday a.m. to get an appointment. I was glad to see that Kosmo is his last name. I am not sure I would be too comfortable seeing someone that would remind me of Kosmo Kramer from Seinfeld.....
